The universe may have been saved before but the timeline has been completely shattered. Avengers Doomsday assembles a fractured generation of heroes to face a catastrophic threat that does not just want to destroy the world it wants to rule all of them with an iron fist.
In the wake of the devastating Multiverse incursions reality itself begins to collapse. Doctor Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch finds his spells failing and his sanctums crumbling as different dimensions bleed into one another creating a chaotic tapestry of existence. Sam Wilson played by Anthony Mackie is struggling under the heavy weight of the shield and the legacy it carries. He must rally a scattered and dispirited team including Spider Man Captain Marvel and Thor to hold the line against the encroaching darkness.
However their resolve is broken when the mysterious architect of this chaos finally reveals himself as the feared Victor Von Doom. When the metal mask comes off the face underneath sends a shockwave of horror through the entire cosmos. It is the face of their fallen savior Tony Stark. This is not the hero they knew but a dangerous variant devoid of mercy driven by a cold calculating logic to save the multiverse by enslaving it. Robert Downey Jr returns to the franchise in a chilling villainous turn that challenges the Avengers both emotionally and physically in ways they never expected.
