Decades after finding One Eyed Willys rich stuff and saving the Goon Docks the close knit group has slowly drifted apart consumed by the mundane responsibilities of adulthood. Mikey played by Sean Astin has become the nostalgic and quiet curator of the Astoria History Museum desperately trying to preserve the past. Meanwhile Data played by Ke Huy Quan has evolved into an eccentric global tech mogul and Brand played by Josh Brolin is a weary and cynical city councilman trying to manage the town through bureaucracy rather than adventure.
The sleepy coastal town is shaken to its core when a controversial corporate deep sea drilling operation off the misty coast accidentally triggers a dormant and ancient booby trap. These unnatural tremors threaten to physically sink the entire town of Astoria directly into the cold ocean erasing their history forever. Amidst the chaos a new and cryptic riddle surfaces revealing a shocking historical truth.
